Flax Seed Gel

Flax Seed Gel

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cups Flax seeds
  • 1 tsp Castor Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Jojoba Oil
  • 1 TB Aloe Vera Juice
  • 10 drops of Glycerin

I love, love, love this stuff. I had a lot of success on my own coarse, kinky hair with this but it does a nice job of moisturizing fine hair when applied lightly. It provides hold but does not make my hair sticky or crunchy like other gels. It keeps my hair stretched and well moisturized when applied daily. It has a faint nutty aroma. Can be used as a moisturizer an detangler.

Boil for 25-20 minutes (water + flax seeds). Use stocking or cheesecloth to strain gel; best to use tongs to squeeze it out. Add all other ingredients, stir. Recommend: using a squeeze bottle for container. Keep container in fridge ;will stay fresh for about 2-3 weeks. Save extra use seeds in mason jar in the freezer for one more round of use! (it will take longer to turn to gel and you will yield less). Here’s a video from Naptural85 with her own spin on the recipe.
